No. 13 Furman Upset No. 4 Virginia in a Truly Bonkers Fashion
It only took two games for March to turn completely mad.
With No. 13 Furman on the ropes against the No. 4 seeded Virginia Cavaliers, they were able to pull off the miraculous upset. The Cavaliers were in control and up 2 points with roughly 12 seconds to go. As they inbounded the ball, Furman went to trap Virginia’s Kihei Clark. The point guard then went on to shockingly chuck the ball down the court with 8.0 seconds still on the clock.
Furman’s Garrett Hein easily intercepted the ball at mid-court, immediately passing it to JP Pegues who knocked down the go-ahead 3-pointer with 2 seconds left!

I know, what was Clark thinking!?
Furman will now move on in the Tournament for the first time since 1974. They’ll have to wait for No. 12 Charleston and No. 5 San Diego State to face off last today to know who’s up next.
