Big 12 Tournament Preview
Cutting this one a little close with some teams playing a couple hours so, we’ll keep it brief.
Kansas: Very, very good and usually plays well in the tournament. A few of their losses have been by margin though and this conference is DEEP, so I’m putting them on upset alert right now. Not getting a ton of offensive rebounds or steals, which always help since extra possessions are nice.
Baylor: Hot, nasty offense but will lose games where they take 25 three pointers and don’t make enough of them to make up for a bad defense and the inability to often score in other ways.
Texas: Takes care of the ball, makes their bunnies, is fairly balanced. Do we trust the coaching in his first Big 12 tourney as top banana?
TCU: Up and down season marred by some missed time from contributors. Shooting under 30% from deep in league play isn’t a great recipe for success, especially if you find yourself down late.
Kansas State: Finished the season on a 1-7 run in away games. Fast pace, but can be sloppy with the ball. Very good defensively, some bad shooting nights from deep have doomed them down the stretch.
Iowa State: another elite defense that still lost half its games due to an offense that can’t break 60 repeatedly. Doesn’t get to the line enough and when they get there, only shoots 67.2%
Big 12 Tournament Prediction
Ok, cool. hook em. Shop around and you might find a +330 or better. Like K-State, hasn’t been as good away from home, but they just dummied the Jayhawks and I like their path to the final.
My Bet: Texas +300
