AAC Tournament Preview: Odds, Schedule, Information & Predictions

News, Sports Betting

Second to last tourney to start despite having eleven teams to sort through, the 2023 American Athletic Conference Tournament will get going just after lunch on the east coast today.

When is the AAC Tournament?

Thursday the 9th through Sunday the 12th.

Where is the AAC Tournament played?

All games will be played at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.

How to watch the AAC Tournament

The first few rounds bounce between ESPNU and ESPN2 with the Sunday afternoon’s final on ESPN.

Who won the regular season title?

Houston finished 17-1 to win the title.

Defending Champ

A ranked Houston team won last year’s as well.

Who will participate

Everyone! All eleven teams are in.

How Many teams will the AAC send to the tournament?

Looking like two. Houston is obviously in, and at this point it doesn’t appear that Memphis could do anything to screw it up either. Anyone else that wants in is likely going to have to beat the top team in the country to do it.

AAC Tournament Bracket

Byes for the top five squads, no reseeding.

AAC Tournament Odds

Well, this isn’t fun.

AAC Tournament Preview

Kind of painted myself into a corner here with my insistence on betting every single league. On one hand this is one of the bigger gaps between where I have a team and the rest of the conference (eclipsed by Colgate for sure). On the other hand it’s -300.

The Memphis number is tempting to look at but, they’re 0-4 versus Houston and Tulane so far and struggled with likely quarterfinal opponent UCF as well. It’s a shame that Cincy didn’t get the three seed as I have seen some markets for “team to make the final”.

The move would be to take someone out of the bottom half and hope Houston slips up, but the bottom half here is a mess and honestly, this may just be a boring one with a team priced like they win it 7 out of 10 times.

AAC Tournament Prediction

I can’t advocate for any longshots and will punish myself with a Houston ticket at an obscene, but ultimately pretty fair price. You may do better just to skip this one and watch the other 15 tournaments currently happening.

My Bet: Houston -310
