NCAA Tournament Selection Sunday

2023 Selection Sunday is on March 12. The Selection Show will unveil which teams make the NCAA Tournament. It takes place at 6 p.m. eastern and airs on CBS following the conclusion of the final conference tournaments around the country. The women’s bracket is revealed on ESPN and 8 p.m. eastern.

The 68-team field is selected in two categories. Teams can receive an at-large bid which is based on factors such as strength of schedule, record, and more. There are also automatic bids that are earned by winning a conference tournament championship. The seeding goes from number 1 to 16. The top seeds are number 1.

The First Four kicks off the tournament on March 14 and 15 with play-in games. Then, the First Round begins on Thursday, March 16. Half of the games are played on Thursday while the other half of the First Round fall on Friday, March 17.
