The Big 12 has seven teams that earned a bid to the big dance. Kansas is a number 1 seed and hopes to reach the championship game for the second year in a row. The Jayhawks won the national title over North Carolina last season during the 2022 NCAA Tournament. Here is a look at the teams from the Big 12 Conference who made the 2023 NCAA Tournament:
Kansas Jayhawks – 1 seed
Texas Longhorns – 2 seed
Kansas State Wildcats – 3 seed
Baylor Bears – 3 seed
TCU Horned Frogs – 6 seed
Iowa State Cyclones – 6 seed
West Virginia Mountaineers – 9 seed
Kansas was able to win the regular season Big 12 basketball title. In the conference tournament, Texas blew out the Jayhawks to win the Big 12 Championship. The Longhorns now find themselves as a number 2 seed in the NCAA Division I Tournament. Texas was able to win 76-56 in the Big 12 Basketball Tournament Championship Game.
Projections had around five teams from the conference making the tournament. Some even had it as low as four teams. The players and coaches in the conference were happy to see seven Big 12 teams revealed in the NCAA Tournament this year on Selection Sunday.
