San Diego State Hits Epic Buzzer Beater to Send Team to National Championship

NCAAB, News

MARCH JUST GOT MADDER!

San Diego State down was down 71-70 to the Flordia Atlantic Owls with just 10 second left on the clock when Nathan Mensah snatched the defensive rebound. Instead of calling a timeout, head coach Brian Dutcher let his team try to win the game. And that’s exactly what Lamont Butler did.

After failing to get to the rim as precious second tipped off the clock, Butler retreated for the mid-range. The junior guard left his feet with just a second left the clock, knocking down the game-winning shot at the buzzer.

Check out the epic moment:

I know … this tournament is the best.

The San Diego State Aztecs will now advance to the National Championship for the first time in school history (it was also their first Final Four appearance). They will have to wait a couple more hours to find out who their opponent will be, as Miami and UConn prepare to duke it out next.
