Big Day 3 Picks in the 2022 NFL Draft
Houston Texans running back Dameon Pierce was the second selection on Day 3, and he ran for almost 1,000 yards in his rookie season. Cornerback Coby Bryant ended up playing in 17 games for the Seattle Seahawks after going on Day 3 of the 2022 NFL Draft.
Don’t forget about kickers as Cade York ended up going 24-43 on field goals for the Browns in 2022. Another running back who saw a lot of action was Tyler Allgeier after being a fifth-round selection by the Atlanta Falcons.
One of the most notable selections on draft day was the last pick of Round 7, as the 49ers picked Brock Purdy as Mr. Irrelevant. Purdy went on to start five regular season games and was 5-0 as a starter.Â
The Miami Dolphins saw rookie quarterback Skylar Thompson start a playoff game after injuries decimated the team’s QB room. He was also a 7th-round pick in last year’s draft.
Recently traded QB Aaron Rodgers threw a few touchdowns for wide receiver Romeo Doubs, while James Houston was the steal of the draft for the Detroit Lions. The linebacker was second among all rookies with eight sacks in 2022. He was second behind Aidan Hutchinson who was picked by general manager Brad Holmes at number two overall.
2023 NFL Draft: What Time is Day 3 FAQs
Day 3 of the draft will kick off at 12 p.m. ET on Saturday. It consists of rounds four through seven as the final college football players are selected by NFL teams. The first round is on Thursday, April 27 at 8 p.m. ET while rounds 2-3 are on day 2 on Friday, April 28 at 7 p.m. ET.
