When is the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs?
The 2023 Derby is on Saturday, May 6 at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. Twenty horses will compete in the first event of the Triple Crown at the 149th Kentucky Derby. You’ll see Hit Show, Verifying, Two Phil’s, Confidence Game, and more horses run for the roses and hope to win the Kentucky Derby on Saturday.
Watching the Derby: Time and Channels
The race begins at 6:57 p.m. ET as jockeys will be battling it out on the racetrack to go down in history by finishing first. The first of the Triple Crown races is on NBC. You can watch on NBC with traditional cable or you can watch on NBC’s streaming app Peacock.
