2023 Nascar Odds: Goodyear 400 from Darlington Raceway
It’s time to earn those Darlington Stripes at Darlington Raceway as we close out the regular season’s first half. The green flag is scheduled for Sunday, May 14th at 3:00 PM EST from the track deemed “Too Tough to Tame”. Let’s get ready for raceday with the opening Goodyear 400 Odds from DraftKings Sportsbook.
Darlington, as evidenced by it’s nickname, is notorious for being a b***h on tires and one of the toughest tracks on the schedule. The first two races here in the nextgen car lived up to mantra and chaos with multiple race contenders wrecking or finishing near the back. In those two events, Joey Logano put his no.22 Penske car on the pole and won the Spring race while finishing 4th in the Fall.
That isn’t all that surprising considering recent winners at Darlington all had decent starting positions. Three of the last four winners started 4th or better. Four of the last five began their day 8th or better. And nobody has started worse than 16th in any of the last 15 races here.
Amazingly during this span, Chevrolet has found victory lane just three times and only once over the last twelve trips. The latest of course being Erik Jones, his 2nd career win here during the Fall last season.
Goodyear 400 Odds
Even with the lack of success for Chevy, Kyle Larson opens as the favorite with Denny Hamlin along side him. Denny is the active wins leader here with 4 last doing so in 2021 and is coming off his first victory of 2023 at Kansas.
