I didn’t think anything of it the first time. I honestly didn’t think much of it the second time. The third time was wild. But, ladies and gentlemen … he’s done it again … Brett Maher has missed all four of his extra point attempts in tonight’s playoff matchup against the Bucs.
I honestly feel bad for the poor guy at this point. Four … FOUR extra points, whiffed for Brett Maher.
Maher missed three extra points the entire season! Maher was 50 of 53 during the regular season and nailed 29 of 32 field goals including nine from greater than 50 yards. Throughout his career, Maher has hit 128 of 134 extra points. So, Maher needs just two more misses tonight to match his career regular-season total.
In the meantime, it’s a playoff record per AP NFL. Not the kind for which you want to be remembered: “Dallas’ Brett Maher has missed four straight extra points in an NFC wild-card playoff game against Tampa Bay. He’s the first kicker to miss three or more PATs in a playoff game.”
Written another, even worse way:
Naturally, some people are shocked …
And some are having fun.
