Chad Henne and Travis Kelce Connect for a TD on the First Drive After Mahomes Exits

NFL

I’m not going to sit here and pretend that Chad Henne will have optimal results all day, but seeing him hit Travis Kelce for a touchdown has to be comforting to Chiefs fans.

On Henne’s first drive of the game (after Mahomes went to the locker room with an ankle injury), he put together a 12-play, 98-yard drive to get the Chiefs back on the scoreboard and up by two scores. Running back Isiah Pacheco helped do some of the heavy lifting with a 40-yard run here on 2nd & 10:

Henne capped the drive by finding Travis Kelce for a one-yard touchdown, Kelce’s second of the game to put the Chiefs up 14-7.

I said that the Chiefs path to victory would be exploiting the Jaguars’ inability to cover opposing tight ends. But, whether it be Mahomes or Henne, Andy Reid has dialed 87 in red.

Kelce has 10 catches for 55 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
