The 2023 NFL Scouting Combine is just about here. The top draft prospects will compete in drills such as the 40-yard dash, bench press, shuttle run, and more. The combine is one of the biggest events for the NFL. Just a few weeks after the Super Bowl, teams are ready for the annual event of athletic testing. Let’s take a look at the 2023 NFL Combine schedule.

NFL Scouting Combine Workout Dates

Early arrivals for registration begin on February 26 with the defensive linemen and linebackers. Each day, more player groups will arrive to show off and test their skills before the 2023 NFL Draft. The event officially starts on Tuesday, February 28 in Indy and runs until Monday, March 6.

The scouting combine schedule has the prospects broken up by position group for the week-long event. The different portions of the combine include broadcast interviews, media interviews, measurements, and on-field workouts.

The workouts have position-specific drills for the prospects to show off for coaches and management. There are also team interviews after the combine kicks off to go along with medical evaluations of the players during the span of the week.

When and Where is the NFL Combine 2023

The 2023 NFL Combine is being held in Indianapolis, Indiana. It takes place at Lucas Oil Stadium. You can watch the coverage of the event on NFL Network where it’s televised every year. Owners, general managers, and scouts will be on hand to evaluate players as they prep for the NFL Draft.

The Chicago Bears will be getting a lot of buzz during the week considering they have the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Top Performers From the 2022 NFL Combine

The 2022 NFL Scouting Combine saw the likes of Aiden Hutchinson, Kyle Hamilton, and Chris Olave show strong performances with their athletic ability. Hutchinson ended up going number two overall to the Detroit Lions and had a strong rookie season.

History of the NFL Combine

Tex Schramm, the president and GM of the Dallas Cowboys, proposed the idea of having a central place for workouts. Before 1982, teams scheduled individual workouts with players. The first National Invitational Camp was held for players to showcase their skills in 1982 in Tampa, Florida.

It was changed to the NFL Combine in 1985 and was held in Arizona and New Orleans before moving to Indianapolis in 1987. The combine was originated by National Football Scouting Inc.
