Holy Smokes: Michigan’s DJ Turner Ran a 4.26 40-Yard Dash!

NFL

Michigan cornerback DJ Turner II had us waiting anxiously for the official times this afternoon after a blazing first attempt at the 40-yard dash. DJ Turner was clocked (unofficially) at 4.27 on his first attempt at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

Turner opted not to run the 40-yard dash a second time, instead sticking with the unofficial 4.26 40-yard dash time.

For about an hour, we all waited anxiously for the official time announcement. On Thursday, the unofficial and official times were .04-.05 seconds faster in a few cases. That would have had Turner flirting with the NFL Combine record.

Turner’s official time came in a 4.26.

Wide receiver John Ross has the fastest official 40 time at the NFL Scouting Combine. In 2017, the wide receiver from Washington ran the dash in 4.22 seconds. Ross was drafted number nine overall in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Turner’s 4.26 wasn’t a record, but it is still very impressive.
