NFL Free Agent Kickers 2023
Teams are making moves with free agency less than a week away. There are franchises looking to improve their kicking game through free agency or the 2023 NFL Draft. Here’s a look at some of the NFL free agent kickers for the 2023 offseason.
Mason Crosby
Crosby was just 1 of 4 from 50-plus yards last season for the Green Bay Packers. He ended up going 23 of 24 on all other field goals though. A solid season for the veteran.
Robbie Gould
Gould has been one of the top kickers in the NFL for a while. He had another solid year for the 49ers as he went 27 of 32 during the 2022 season. He was 2 for 2 on field goals 50 yards or longer.
Greg Joseph
Joseph is coming off a down season for the Vikings. He was 26 of 33 on the year and he missed six extra points. In 2021, Joseph was 33 of 38 and made seven field goals of at least 50 yards.
Brett Maher
Maher was good for the Cowboys in the regular season as he went 29 of 32 on field goals. He nailed 9 of 11 from 50-plus yards. In the playoffs, it was another story. He missed four extra points in one game. That’s the first time that has ever happened in the NFL.
Matt Gay
Matt Gay was solid for the Los Angeles Rams last season. Even though the team struggled all year, he hit 28 of 30 attempts. Also, he was 7-9 from 50-plus yards.
Chase McLaughlin
McLaughlin has bounced around the league but landed with the Colts in 2022. He went 30 of 36 on the year and made nine field goals that were 50 yards or longer.
Eddy Pineiro
Pineiro burst onto the scene for the Carolina Panthers in 2022 as he went 33 of 35 on field goals. He only attempted two from 50-plus yards but he was almost automatic up to that point.
Greg Zuerlein
He has one of the strongest legs in the NFL. Zuerlein was 6 of 11 from 50-plus yards during the 2022 season for the New York Jets. He was 30 of 37 overall on the year.
Other 2023 Free Agent Kickers to Note
Matt Prater, Randy Bullock, and Quinn Nordin will also be 2023 NFL free agents on March 15. Prater might turn 39 this year but he still showed off his strong leg. He was 5 of 6 from 50-plus last season. Bullock is just 8 of 15 from 50-plus yards since the 2018 season.

A player in the NFL is an unrestricted free agent if they have played at least four or more seasons and have an expiring contract. They can sign with any team without restriction or draft pick compensation.

The free agency period starts on March 15, 2023, at 4 p.m. eastern time. Teams can contact agents during the legal tampering period which begins on March 13.
