On Friday, the Miami Dolphins informed quarterback Tua Tagovailoa that they intend to exercise his fifth-year option.
NFL Media’s Mike Garafolo broke the news a short time ago on Twitter. Today’s move guarantees Tua $23.2 million for the 2024 season and is another indicator that Miami is all-in on Tagovailoa.
Recently, there has been some chatter regarding the Dolphins’ long-term commitment to the former Alabama QB. This week, Rich Eisen reported that Tom Brady could be in play for the Dolphins if Tua’s health isn’t something they could get comfortable with.
Brady seemingly shut those rumors down on Twitter that same night. But you really never know with Brady.
Still, at least for now, it seems that the Dolphins are sold on Tua under center in Miami.
