The Cowboys traded their original fifth in 2023 and a sixth-round pick in 2024 to the Houston Texans for wide receiver Brandin Cooks.
Dallas traded its 2023 fifth-round pick to the Indianapolis Colts for cornerback Stephon Gilmore on March 14, 2023.
Cowboys Mock Draft Selections and Needs: LB, WR, CB, and More
The Cowboys could address the defensive front seven and offensive line with their first pick. A few mock drafts see them taking offensive lineman O’Cyrus Torrence from Florida. The team could also go the defensive route and go after edge rusher Lukas Van Ness from Iowa. Van Ness had six sacks in 2022 and 13 sacks in 26 career games.
Texas All-American running back Bijan Robinson could be in the mix after the team released running back Ezekiel Elliott. The team placed a franchise tag on running back Tony Pollard but will be looking for RB depth after Pollard was injured in the playoffs. It would be a nice trip from Austin to AT&T Stadium for the Texas star.
There have been rumors in mock drafts of adding some wide receiver depth in the later rounds with wideouts such as Trey Palmer from Nebraska and Jonathan Mingo from Ole Miss.
