Marvin Jones is Returning to the Lions for Stint #2

News, NFL

After a two-year stay in Jacksonville, wide receiver Marvin Jones is heading back to Detroit on a one-year deal featuring a $3 million base that can reach $5 million with incentives.

Jones himself took to Twitter to show his excitement in returning to the place he called home from 2016-2020.

Jones averaged 859.2 receiving yards and 7.2 touchdowns per season in his former stint for the Lions before heading south to Jacksonville for 2021-2022. His first year with the Jags was during the Urban Meyer debacle, but he still managed to end the season as WR22 in total targets (120) and posted 832 yards with four touchdowns. Last year, the 33-year-old got lost in a crowded receiver room for the Jags and ended with 46 receptions for 529 yards and three scores.

Now part of the emerging Detriot offense, Jones joined young talented wideouts Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams as a solid, dependable WR3.
