If you read Patrick’s NFL Bullets this morning, then you’d already have gotten the sense that a sale of the Washington Commanders was coming in hot.
A mere hours later, it sure seems like that is coming to fruition.
NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport discusses reporting from Sportico that has Josh Harris’ group getting close to buying the Commanders:
Once finalized, this will be one heck of a mega deal. Sportico reports it’ll be a $6 billion price tag for Washington’s football team. And if that is how the cookie crumbles, it will be the largest deal consummated by someone purchasing an American sports team. Eclipsing the $4.6 billion tag Rob Walton gave out to buy the Denver Broncos last year would be outrageous. But also … kinda cool. Although, I don’t love that the major beneficiary here would be Daniel Snyder — who has brought upon so much pain and drama to a fanbase and league that didn’t deserve.
More as details become available.

I’m looking forward to seeing the fallout ahead. This is a HUGE deal.
