The trades continue in a fun start to the second round of the NFL Draft. We’ve already seen the Titans move up to select quarterback Will Levis and the Raiders move up to take Notre Dame tight end, Michael Mayer. Now we have the Falcons swapping picks with the Colts. Oh, and this is all within the first seven picks of the night!
I must admit, when I saw Atlanta move up, I was thinking that they were coming for a quarterback Hendon Hooker. Landing Bijan Robinson and Hendon Hooker in the first thirty-eight picks would have been a nice get for the Falcons.
Instead, Atlanta went with offensive lineman Matt Bergeron. That pick seems to reaffirm the Falcons’ confidence in Desmond Ridder under center. Atlanta continues to build a big team that will look to run over smaller opponents.
Atlanta is sending picks No. 44 and 110 to the Indianapolis Colts in the trade.
