The Titans Trade Up to Select QB Will Levis
Here we go again! The Tennessee Titans were rumored to be a potential trade partner for the Arizona Cardinals heading into the first round of the NFL Draft, and it never panned out. The Cardinals instead traded back with the Detroit Lions, and Tennessee stayed put at No. 11.
However, today the two teams got a deal done for the 33rd overall selection, and the Titans jumped up to select their quarterback of the future, Will Levis.
The Titans are sending picks No. 41 and 72 and a 2024 third-rounder to the Cardinals for No. 33 (Will Levis) and No. 81, per Ian Rapoport.
Levis was considered a possible target for the Titans at No. 11. Still, Tennessee took Northwestern offensive lineman Peter Skoronski last night. But after trying to trade back into the first round last night to no avail, Tennessee has landed their QB thanks to an unprecedented slide down the draft board for Will Levis.
Levis’ interview process was called into question last night and this morning after he went from sure-fire top pick to out of the first round altogether last night.
Titans QB Ryan Tannehill is entering the final year of his contract, and none of the remaining money is guaranteed.
