Bears vs. Vikings Line: Chicago in Familiar, Yet Unexpected Spot

Sports Betting

The Week 10 meeting between the Bears and Vikings is a showcase of two teams heading in opposite directions. The banged-up Bears have dropped three straight, while the resurgent Vikings look to take another step closer to the .500 mark. That sets up an intriguing Monday night matchup at Soldier Field this week, so let’s take a look at the Bears vs. Vikings line, odds, and total.

The Bears vs. Vikings line shows Minnesota is a 2.5-point road favorite at Chicago. The game total is 44.5 points. The Vikings are a -136 moneyline favorite, while the Bears moneyline is priced at +112.

Much to the chagrin of many Illinois bettors, the Bears are quickly beginning to fade in the NFC postseason picture. A combination of poor offensive play, injuries, and a brutal schedule have the once 5-1 Bears on the brink of falling to the .500 mark.  Minnesota, meanwhile, would love to get there. After a miserable 1-5 start, Dalvin Cook has gone off over the last two weeks, putting the Vikings on his back in consecutive NFC North victories over the Packers and Lions.

A few weeks ago, Chicago appeared to be a clear-cut favorite in this matchup, but things have changed. Oddsmakers have installed the Bears as an underdog for the eighth straight week and for the 9th time in 10 games.

Here’s a look at the Bears-Vikings odds, betting line, moneyline and total as of March 29, 2023 7:32 AM (ET).

Spread

As of Monday afternoon, the Bears vs. Vikings line has Minnesota as a 2.5-point favorite. Frankly, this is a bit of a surprise given the Bears’ superior record. That record has soured in recent weeks, however, as the Chicago offense has fallen flat in three consecutive contests. With the Vikings a short road favorite, oddsmakers at sportsbooks such as William Hill continue to show no belief in the Bears. As noted above, the Bears have only been favored once in 2020, and that was back in Week 2 when they hosted the Giants.

The Vikings are just 5-3 ATS this season. The Bears are 5-4 ATS.

Moneyline

The Bears are +112 on the moneyline. The Vikings moneyline is priced at -136. It will be interesting to see if bettors jump on the home underdog and perhaps drive this spread down to +1 or a pick’em. It’s hard to imagine it goes the other way and reaches the key number of -3.

Bears vs. Vikings Odds Over/Under

The over-under for the Bears and Vikings Week 10 game is 44.5 with PointsBet.

Of note, the over is 3-6 in Bears games this season, missing the total by 3.0 points per contest. For context, only two teams (Arizona and the Rams) have been a worst “over” bet.

For the third straight week, the Chicago plays an opponent that is one of the league’s best “over” teams. The Vikings are 6-2 in terms of going over the total this season. On average, they’ve cleared the total by a whopping 6.2 points per game.

Bears vs. Vikings Line Analysis

This all comes down who’s not and who’s not. The Bears most certainly are not. Credit to them for fighting back and making things respectable in a 24-17 loss in Week 9, but they didn’t score until late in the game and were entirely outclassed. Certainly, the Bears’ woes can be partly attributed to an injury-ravaged roster, but this has been a bad team for the better part of a month.

As for the Vikings, they’re suddenly hot. They’ve ripped off two impressive division wins and suddenly have a chance to work their way back into the wild card picture if they pick up a critical road victory this weekend. If Dalvin Cook can produce anything close to the 184.5 rushing yards per game that he’s averaged over the last two weeks, they should be in good shape.

Where Is the Money Going?

The early money is leaning toward the Vikings. As of Monday afternoon, 68% of all point spread bets back the road team, but only 52% of the money is on the same side. Meanwhile, 60% of bets are on the over.
