Bears vs. Texans Line: How Low Can They Go?

Sports Betting

Finally favored a week ago, the Bears blew their chance to get back to .500 and keep their fading playoff hopes alive. Now, after enduring a sixth straight loss and their. playoff hopes all but extinguished, the team’s direction beyond a disappointing 2020 campaign is unclear. Just how bad have things gotten for the once 5-1 Bears? Well, they host the 4-8 Texans this week as an underdog. Ahead of this Week 14 matchup, let’s take a look at the Bears vs. Texans line, odds, and total.

The Bears vs. Texans line shows Houston is a one-point road favorite. The game total is 44.5 points. The Bears are a -103 moneyline underdog, while the Texans moneyline is priced at -114.

Illinois bettors who backed the Bears against the Lions in Week 13 had to be feeling good early on–and late–but the Bears surrendered a double digit lead to a bad team that had little to play for. It was yet another disappointment in a two-month stretch rife with head-shaking moments. Meanwhile, the Texans gave a spirited effort against the superior Colts, but came up short in a 26-20 loss. Still, the Texans come to Soldier Field in Week 14 and do so, at least for now, as the favorite.

Here’s a look at the Bears-Texans odds, betting line, moneyline and total as of October 2, 2022 4:23 AM (ET).

Bears+10 (-110)+400O 47.5
Saints-10 (-110)-500U 47.5

As of late Tuesday afternoon, the Bears vs. Texans spread has Houston favored by one point. Not much of a surprise here. Despite also suffering through a disappointing season, the Texans have at least demonstrated some signs of life lately. And, at the very least, they certainly have the superior quarterback in this matchup. Oddsmakers at sportsbooks such as William Hill basically see this one as a toss up between two mediocre-at-best-teams.

After being installed as a favorite for just the second time in 12 games a week ago, the Bears are underdogs once again.

The Bears are 5-7 ATS this season, while the Texans have been even worse at 4-8 ATS.

The Texans are -114 on the moneyline. The Bears moneyline is priced at -103.

Two bad teams with not much to play for. The Bears have the superior defense and are at home, while the Texans have the far superior quarterback. This moneyline says flip a coin.

Bears vs. Texans Over/Under Odds

The over-under for the Bears and Texans Week 14 game is 44.5 at PointsBet.

Of note, the over is 5-7 in Bears games this season. After the under cashed in 7 of the Bears’ first 10 games, the over has hit each of the last two weeks. Meanwhile, the over has cashed in 6 of the Texans’ 12 games.
