The Chicago Blackhawks close out their five game road trip tonight in a battle with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Let’s take a look at this Central Division showdown on February 25, 2021 from a betting perspective in our Blackhawks vs. Blue Jackets betting preview with odds, picks and predictions.
Blackhawks vs. Blue Jackets Betting Preview
The Blackhawks picked up another win in a 6-5 contest that needed overtime and a shootout to decide the all-important second point in the standings. Patrick Kane scored a goal and picked up three assists and Alex DeBrincat scored the lone tally in the shootout to clinch the victory.

Blackhawks goalie Kevin Lankinen didn’t have a sharp night, making just 25 saves on 30 shots faced as the Columbus power-play scored three times, with two of those goals coming from forward Patrik Laine. With the victory, Chicago is a red-hot 8-2-1 in their last 11 contests with five of those wins coming in overtime or a shootout.

Bets We Like With a Blue Jackets Win
Oliver Bjorkstrand OVER 2.5 Shots on Goal (-112, Draftkings)
The 25-year old Danish winger scored two key goals in the third period, helping send Tuesday’s game into overtime and missed on a penalty shot attempt in the second period. Bjorkstrand has 14 shots on goal in his last four contests and I like for him to get some more chances to find the back of the net tonight.
Bets We Like With a Blackhawks Win
Patrick Kane to Score a Goal Anytime (+188, FanDuel)
The 14-year veteran continues his hot run as the Blackhawks’ current MVP with a goal and three assists on Tuesday night, bringing his points total to 30 on the season. Kane has 22 goals and 45 assists in 51 career games against Columbus, and I look for him to continue his point streak tonight with another goal scored.

Bets We Like Independent of the Outcome
Full Game OVER 5.5 Goals (-108, PointsBet)
We saw another high scoring battle between these two squads on Tuesday, and I would expect more of the same in this contest, especially if Chicago decides to give Malcolm Subban the start in net over Kevin Lankinen. Subban has been much better over his last two starts compared to how he looked to start the season, but with the Hawks giving up a ton of high danger chances, Columbus will have an easy time solving the backup and should help push this game over the total.
Blackhawks vs. Blue Jackets Prediction
Chicago escaped with another victory late in the contest, but Columbus played much better hockey overall in that game, and I like for the Blue Jackets to get some rapid revenge tonight in a 4-2 victory.
