Eagles soar as new Super Bowl favorites

The Eagles absolutely dominated in the Divisional Round. Coming off a first-round bye, the Eagles beat the Giants 38-7. The score looks bad but the game was even worse. The Eagles were leading 28-0 at halftime and the Giants finished with just 227 total yards of offense. Giants HC Brian Daboll did an incredible job coaching the Giants to a playoff berth and first-round victory. The team overcame middling and even bottom-tier talent on their roster to win 9 games this year. Unfortunately, the talent deficit was too much to overcome against a well-rested Eagles team. The Eagles now host the 49ers in the first game on Sunday.

Bengals roll Bills to become AFC favorites

The Bengals entered the Divisional Round as 6-point underdogs against the Buffalo Bills but couldn’t have been much more impressive. Despite missing three starting offensive linemen, Joe Burrow and the offense racked up 27 points. Their defense also held Buffalo to just 10 points, the fewest in a Josh Allen home game since 2019. The Bengals now travel to Arrowhead Stadium to take on the Chiefs as just 1-point underdogs.

Chiefs limp into the Championship Round

If you would have told me a week ago that the Chiefs would be hosting the Bengals in the Championship Round, I would have guessed they’d be the Super Bowl favorites. They would be if not for the injury to Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes is dealing with a high ankle sprain he suffered right before halftime against the Jaguars. His injury will be one of the biggest storylines to pay attention to over the coming days.

49ers bring up the rear

The 49ers squeaked out a close win over the Cowboys, 19-12 in the divisional round. Neither team was able to get a ton going offensively but WR Ceedee Lamb led the team in receiving yards with 117. Dak Prescott’s two interceptions wound up being extremely costly for the Cowboys as they wound up losing the turnover battle, two to one. Otherwise, the game was extremely close with 21 first downs for the 49ers to 15 for the Cowboys. The Niners also only had 30 more total yards. They now head to Lincoln Financial Field to take on the Eagles. The current spread has the Eagles as 3-point home favorites in the conference championship.
