2023 Super Bowl First Touchdown Predictions
The Super Bowl is finally here! After a wild 2022 season, we are left with the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles currently sit as the favorites but there are plenty of other ways to bet on the game outside of picking a team. One of those ways is betting on which player will score the first touchdown.
Betting on the first touchdown scorer is exactly what you’d think, you are choosing which player will score a touchdown first. The appeal of betting on this market is the long odds and potentially quick gratification of winning a bet early on in the game.
Instead of just betting on one player, sprinkling on 2-3 players makes the most sense. If you want more of this analysis and bets, check out our FREE Super Bowl Breakdown.

2023 Super Bowl First Touchdown Scorer Predictions
Travis Kelce First Touchdown Scorer (+650)
Travis Kelce has a touchdown in each of his last five playoff games and nine of his last 11. When things matter most, Patrick Mahomes trusts Travis Kelce in the red zone. The Chiefs will also be without Mecole Hardman while Juju Smith-Schuster and Kadarius Toney very likely won’t be 100%.
The Eagles look good against tight ends in terms of efficiency but rank 17th in yards allowed to the position. The best tight ends they have faced were Pat Freirmuth, Dalton Shultz, and Zach Ertz. Kelce is obviously a massive step up from all of those players.
Patrick Mahomes First Touchdown Scorer (+2900)
Don’t get confused, this means Mahomes has to run in the first touchdown, not pass it. A lot has been made about his high ankle sprain but he looked relatively mobile against the Bengals and now has had two weeks to rest it. He won’t be 100% but it wouldn’t surprise me to see Mahomes run one in near the endzone. When we factor in the odds of 29/1, this is a great look.
Jalen Hurts First Touchdown Scorer (+800)
In addition to Mahomes and Kelce, having some exposure to the Eagles makes a ton of sense. With Jalen Hurts they are averaging 19.1 points per game this season, the most since the 2007 New England Patriots. Hurts ran for 13 touchdowns this season and will very likely be forced to use his legs more than usual against a frisky Chiefs defense.
