Miami Heat Alt. Line -1.5 (+106)

The Heat come into tonight off a tough home loss to Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets on Monday night. They had won three straight before that game, with each victory coming by 2 or more points.

Brooklyn is ahead of Miami in the standings but are clearly a different team post trade deadline. The teams’ chemistry is still a work in progress sans Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. Since sending Kyrie to Dallas, Brooklyn has lost four of six games, with each defeat by 3 or more points.

Miami is the more cohesive unit and has won by 2 or more points in 10 straight victories. The Heat are -102 on the moneyline, so why not add some juice by laying an extra point. It’s a great addition to our NBA SGP.

Max Strus Made Threes Over 3.5 (+120)

First and foremost, Tyler Herro will NOT play for a second consecutive game. This matters because it was Strus who saw the largest increase in minutes with Herro out on Monday. These minutes resulted in 20 total shots *a season-high. With 14 of those from beyond the arc, and 4 made threes.

Max is averaging 12 attempts from deep over his last three games and he’s taking advantage. He has made 4+ threes in the last two games and is shooting 36% during February.

In addition to his hot streak, Strus gets a Nets squad allowing the 25th worst 3P% on the year. He made just 2 threes the last time these teams played but that was on just 3 attempts. He’s much more involved now, and a forth straight game with 10+ attempts is possible.

Cam Johnson 3+ Made Threes (+160)

Johnson came to Brooklyn as part of the package for KD and has played just two games for the Nets. He’s attempted an average of 7 attempted threes with 2 makes in those games.

Cam is a career 40% shooter from beyond the arc and like Strus, faces a defense in the bottom 3rd defending the 3PA. His size at the wing will be an issue for Miami’s smallish backcourt.

Brooklyn would be wise to let the former Tar Heel get cooking. Cam is -190 for 2 or more made threes so the value is astronomically better on 3+. We’re also trying to maximize our potential winnings on this NBA SGP so it just makes sense.
