Despite being the clear star of the individual events, the NBA Slam Dunk Contest is once again short on household names. Mac McClung just signed a two-way contract with the 76ers after starring in the G-League. McClung was a viral sensation in high school for his dunking ability. Sims, the Knicks second year forward out of Texas, has been known to throw down some monster dunks in games. Martin and Murphy are third and fourth in the odds just about everywhere you look.

You could argue the Three Point Contest has passed the Slam Dunk Contest in star power in recent years. Buddy Hield is the favorite. Hield is eighth in the league in three point field goal percentage and is the only returning champion in the field, having won it in 2019. Additionally, Damian Lillard is an electrifying shooter and Jayson Tatum is an MVP candidate so they rank second and third. Lauri Markkanen will compete in front of the home fans and is fifth in the odds, tied with Indiana’s Tyrese Haliburton. Julius Randle is the long shot as an injury replacement for Anfernee Simons.

Rising Stars Tournament Odds
