How To Bet Chiefs vs. Ravens Monday Night Football Showdown

Sports Gambling

Listen, we tend to do this thing where we make every big game out to be an epic clash or the game of the year. In fact, I would guess that we (as in fans, media types, etc.) probably hype up 10+ games as the game of year .

That being said, I mean, tonight’s showdown between the Chiefs and Ravens on Monday Night Football is peak attractive. Star power, amazing quarterbacks, a potential postseason preview, and perhaps the game’s two best teams on the national stage? No doubt, this one has all of the makings of the game of the year.

Really. I mean it.

Of course, betting action follows hype and Chiefs – Ravens is widely expected to be one of the most heavily bet games of the season. Therefore, in celebration of one of the best Monday night matchups in recent memory, let’s run through some of our best bets for Chiefs vs. Ravens.

Note: All odds are as of early Monday afternoon.

Ravens vs. Chiefs Betting Prediction

Let’s cut to the chase and make a prediction for Chiefs vs. Ravens.

Pick: Ravens -3

I like the Ravens tonight, and I like them at PointsBet.

I know the Chiefs are the defending champs. I know Patrick Mahomes has excelled as an underdog. And I also know that Lamar Jackson hasn’t been a good bet as a home favorite, but I love the revenge factor here.

I’m not talking about revenge for the Ravens’ Week 3 loss at Kansas City last season –one of Baltimore’s two regular season losses –I’m talking about Super Bowl revenge.

Surely, the Ravens still feel the sting of watching the Chiefs steal home-field advantage following their unthinkable loss to the Titans, and, surely, the Ravens still feel the sting of watching the Chiefs take a title that looked like it would be their title.

The Chiefs won’t struggle to find motivation on the big stage, and betting against Mahomes takes quite the stomach, but through two weeks, Baltimore looks like the best team in the NFL. I’m buying a talented, hungry team looking to make an emphatic statement at home.

Ravens vs. Chiefs Prop Picks

Under 20.5 Patrick Mahomes Rushing Yards at PointsBet

Here is some friendly advice — always shop around, friends. There is big competition at Illinois online sportsbooks right now, and you can take advantage of optimal odds with both traditional game outcome and prop markets. In this case, you can grab Mahomes to stay under 20.5 rushing yards with PointsBet.  As for shopping around, note that the total is set at 17.5 and 18.5 rushing yards at DraftKings Sportsbook and FanDuel Sportsbook, respectively, so there is some value here.

I’ll gladly grab those three extra yards of value on a quarterback who didn’t have a single rushing attempt in Week 1. Sure, he ran six times for 54 yards last week, but that was an outlier performance.

Last season, Mahomes stayed under 17 yards in 10 of his 14 regular season starts. That includes a nine-yard performance against a Ravens defense that does a good job of keeping opposing quarterbacks in check.

Over 49.5 Yards Rushing for Mark Ingram at DraftKings Sportsbook

We are heading over to DraftKings Sportsbook for this one.

Last season, Ingram went off against the Chiefs, totaling 103 yards on 16 carries (6.4 ypc) and three scores. More relevant, however, is a woeful 27th ranked Kansas City rush defense that yielded 183 rushing yards a week ago to the Chargers. Also keep in mind that after a slow start in Week 1, Ingram rebounded for 55 yards rushing on just nine attempts against Houston last Sunday.

Ultimately, this play is going to come down to touches, but in what should be a hotly-contested game, I expect the Ravens to rely on Ingram’s veteran experience, allowing him to eclipse his 9.5 carries per game over the first two weeks. If that happens, he should climb past the 49.5 mark with ease.

Mark Ingram to Score a Touchdown +120 at FanDuel Sportsbook

Given the above rationale, I also like Ingram to score a touchdown tonight. While the focus will be on Lamar Jackson, and rightfully so, Ingram has scored 16 touchdowns in his last 18 games, and should be well positioned to cross the goal line. I’m grabbing this one at FanDuel Sportsbook.
