Earlier today, we laughed at and enjoyed the White Sox 14-run 9th inning from yesterday’s game against the Dodgers …. And it took the Milwaukee Brewers all of one day to rival that absurdity.
Yes, somehow a 14-run inning ninth inning might now be an afterthought.
How? Well, that’s because the Brewers scored TWENTY-FOUR (24! (venticuatro!)) runs against the poor Seattle Mariners just a few hours ago*:

*By the way, that “1” in the fourth inning is actually representing a “10.” Which, LOL.

Indeed, the Brewers paired their 24 runs with 24 hits and five walks, against only four strikeouts. Yeesh. In total, they hit eleven extra-base hits, including four homers, one triple, and six doubles.

The biggest boppers of the day include center fielder Keon Broxton (3-3, BB, 2B, HR, 3 RBI), right-fielder Kirk Nieuwenhuis (3-4, 2 2Bs, HR, 6 RBI), and catcher Manny Pina (3-4, 2B, RBI), but obviously plenty of Brewers got in on the fun.

On the Mariners’ side, Ryan Weber took the majority of the whooping. He allowed eight earned runs on eight hits (including a homer) and no walks … while recording just ONE out. His ERA stands at 21.60.
But if you think that’s bad, check out Brett Ash’s ERA.
After allowing seven earned runs today, Ash’s ERA stands at a utterly ridiculous 63.00 ERA on the Spring. We know that Spring results don’t really matter, but that is something else entirely.
All in all, the Mariners had seven separate pitchers take the mound today, four of which now have double-digit ERAs.
