It may sound like the newest work from Dr. Seuss, but I assure you this really happened. The University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign (my alma mater) had a goose on the loose during their latest match-up against Illinois State University.

According to Cut4 (hat tip for finding this clip (now I’m rhyming again)), the bird did eventually leave Eichelberger Field and leave them to their game.
Of course, it did take some coaxing:
