That was almost very ugly. I guess it was ugly for a while. The Cubs took a 6-0 lead into the bottom of the fifth, but Jeff Samardzija gave up five over the next two innings, and then Kevin Gregg put together one of his worst outings of the year (though he gave up just one earned run), and that lead was gone. That feels like a game the Cubs (Cubes?) would always lose. But Nate Schierholtz came through in the 12th.
