Today’s first game features an incrementally less sexy lineup than the evening split squad edition in Las Vegas (more on that later – but it’s on CSN and MLB.tv, so at least you can watch it that way!).
But the game this afternoon is at Sloan Park, and I’ll be there! You’re way more excited about seeing me than Kris Bryant or Javy Baez or Jorge Soler or Anthony Rizzo or Addison Russell or Kyle Schwarber or C.J. Edwards or …
I lost my train of thought.
Oh, yes. Today’s game at Sloan. Look for me in my blue BN shirt, with those blue and yellow shoes on, wandering around and intermittently sitting in right field. Say hello. We can talk about the exciting young players who are in Las Vegas.
But seriously, there is at least one very important thing happening in the afternoon game against the Indians: Tsuyoshi Wada is starting. Hopefully he looks good and healthy (he’s dealt with a hamstring issue and a groin issue already this Spring), giving the Cubs a little more flexibility in their rotation/bullpen configuring.
This early game is not on TV, but you can listen to the audio at Cubs.com.
Today’s lineup:
- Chris Denorfia, DH
- Matt Szczur, CF
- Arismendy Alcantara, 2B
- Starlin Castro, SS
- Mike Olt, 3B
- Chris Coghlan, LF
- David Ross, C
- Ryan Sweeney, RF
- Mike Baxter, 1B
See, I joke about the young players, but this lineup still has guys like Alcantara, Castro, and Olt. Depth for miles, yo. (313.4 miles, to be precise.)
