Boston Red Sox youngster Mookie Betts is a stud. At just 23, he’s already posted a .291/.348/.471 line at the big league level through 197 games, and he’s done it while seeing time at second base, in right field, and in center field.
What I’m saying is that Betts is both good and versatile.
And that versatility extends to another sport, one close to my own heart. Betts is also a legitimately great bowler:
Speaking as a former Junior Olympic alternate bowler – that’s a real thing! don’t check! – I can tell you that Betts has fantastic form, and I can relate with his comments on his first few frames, when he was figuring out the lane. None of my friends appreciate it when I educate them about poor lane conditions and the impact on my game, but, hey, I’m not on the Boston Red Sox.
