You fine Chicago Cubs fan folks must’ve done some good work, because Cubs prospect Jeimer Candelario won the fan vote to get into Saturday’s Fall Stars Game for the Arizona Fall League:

The switch-hitting third baseman has been crushing the ball ever since he was promoted to AA Tennessee this summer, and it’s continued into the AFL, where he’s hitting .341/.362/.682.
Although everyone agrees he’s still got a lot of work to do if he’s going to stick at third base defensively, most are coming on board with the idea that the 21-year-old is going to have a big league bat. It’s possible he’ll head back to AA to begin the 2016 season, but he should see time at Iowa before the year is up.
Until then, he’ll finish out the AFL, and that’ll include an appearance in the Fall Stars Game, which is this Saturday at 7pm CT. You can watch on MLB Network or on MLB.com.
