There will be no punter hold out this summer.

Tory Taylor is officially locked in:

The Chicago Bears announced Tory Taylor’s signing on Saturday morning. And in doing so, made him the first of the team’s five 2024 NFL Draft picks to put pen to paper on their rookie deal. Nothing like making it officially official with your punter.

Here’s what the Bears are getting in Tory Taylor

ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

  • Unanimous All-American (2023)
  • Second-team All-American (2022)
  • Ray Guy Award (2023)
  • Big Ten Punter of the Year (2020, 2023)
  • First-team All-Big 10 (2020, 2023)
  • Third-team All-Big Ten (2022)
  • Most punting yards in a season (4,479; 2023)
  • Highest career average putting yards (46.3; 2023)
  • MORE: Everything You Need to Know About Bears Rookie Punter Tory Taylor

In an ideal world, we won’t see Tory Taylor much in 2024. Actually, in a most ideal world, the only time you’ll see Taylor is when he is holding extra points and field goals kicked by Cairo Santos. But the reality is that the Bears will eventually have to punt. And when they do, they’ll turn to the former University of Iowa All-American to flip the field and pin opposing offenses deep.

Now that the Bears got their big-name punter out of the way, the rest of the class should come together and sign quickly. Who’s got next?
