It seems like so long ago, but do you remember when Mark Trumbo was one of the brightest, burgeoning young sluggers in the game? Back in 2010, he broke out at AAA with 36 homers, and then went on to hit 95 homers over his first three seasons with the big league Angels.
Unfortunately, that home run power was about all he had going for him in his game, and it fell off as he bounced around to the Diamondbacks and Mariners in recent years.
Trumbo wound up with the Orioles for this season, and, while we’ll have to wait to see if his massive power is totally back, he definitely turned it on for one game last night.
Actually, he turned it on for one inning last night, when he went deep twice:
Those were homers four and five for Trumbo on the young season, and they had plenty of distance.
