Yeah. This is a thing that happened.
Last night, the New York Yankees beat the Tampa Bay Rays on a walk-off home run from Brett Gardner in the bottom of the eleventh inning. The walk off was especially significant, given that the Yankees battled back in the bottom of the eighth and ninth to send into extras in the first place.
And, of course, it didn’t hurt that the win came against their divisional rivals, who are just behind them in the standings.
Yes, everyone was very excited for the unexpected victory, but probably just a tad bit too excited:
Do you see that helmet coming up and knocking Aaron Judge in the tooth? Yeah, well he’s reportedly chipped part of it off entirely.
In another video, he can be seen heading towards the dugout in obvious pain:
According to Meredith Marakovits, a Yankees clubhouse reported, Judge did indeed chip part of his tooth, but won’t be on the shelf for long:
Per Yankees PR: Aaron Judge chipped his front tooth during celebration … Will be available to play tomorrow #yankees

While no injury is technically funny, the manner and style of this particular boo-boo is just a tiny bit smirk-inducing.
