Yesterday, the Baltimore Orioles hosted the Boston Red Sox at Camden Yards, when an Orioles fan got involved in the game in a very real way. Here’s how it went.
With no outs in the bottom of the first inning, Jonathan Schoop popped up a harmless fly ball down the right field line. But while the ball was destined to go foul, Red Sox first baseman Steve Pearce still would’ve had a play on it … had he not been called off by a teammate Orioles fan from the stands!
According to Cut4, a fan yelled “Mine!” just before Pearce backed off. And, let’s be honest, you can clearly see the confusion and disappointment in his eyes.
Home field advantage, indeed.
