Well you don’t see this everyday!
In the top of the 3rd inning today, Justin Turner hit a one-out single off German Marquez, which brought Cody Bellinger to the plate. And on the third pitch of his at-bat, Bellinger launched a fly ball the opposite way, as Turner took off for second and rounded the bag. HOWEVER, while the ball did find the glove of Rockies left-fielder Raimel Tapia, he pulled a Jose Canseco and let it pop out of his glove and over the left field wall for a home run.
Unfortunately, Turner thought it was caught and began retreating back to first … which is where the oopsie came in.
Cody Bellinger hit a home run with Justin Turner on base, but Turner thought it was caught for an out and ran back to first base.
Bellinger passed Turner on the bases and was ruled out.
