Introducing the “DONG BONG” – Baltimore’s New HR Celebration

Baseball Is Fun

Oh my how far baseball has come.

Ten years ago, it was still sacrilege to show pretty much any emotion after hitting a home run. But nowadays? We have Viking helmets, giant chains, crowns, jackets, and, apparently now … “beer” bongs in Baltimore.

Pretty sure that’s filled with water, but we can act like it’s still the 80s and pretend it’s beer.

I’m seeing some early rumblings that this home run celebration is being dubbed the “Dong Bong,” which is truly just wonderful. We were just talking about these sort of dugout home run celebrations this morning and why you can’t force one to happen. It just has to happen naturally. This is a good one and I thank the Orioles for blessing us with it.

Oh, here’s the home run, by the way. A 106.7 MPH, 421 bomb off the bat of Ryan Mountcastle.
