The Chris Coghlan Slide Was Almost Exactly Six Years Ago

We Just Passed the Six-Year Anniversary of the Coolest Slide in MLB History

Baseball Is Fun

Obviously, I haven’t seen every single play in MLB history. But I have a hard time imagining a more exciting slide than the one Chris Coghlan so graciously delivered to the world almost exactly six years to the date. Not only was it a “slide” into home, it was over Yadier Molina, who’s generally considered one of the best catchers in baseball history.

I mean, this is just electric, electric stuff.

Chris Coghlan came all the way from first base to score on that fly ball to right field. And while the Cardinals had him dead-to-rights, he literally somersaulted over Molina, landing perfectly on the plate and bouncing up like nothing happened. That was AWESOME and I’ll never forget it. Easily one of the coolest (regular) MLB moments in the last decade.
