Just because the NFL Draft is over doesn’t mean the same can be said for transaction season.
In fact, I feel as if this is just the beginning as the Chicago Bears prepare to make room on their roster for their incoming rookies. Here is the latest:
We have officially signed unrestricted free agent G Taylor Boggs.

This will be Boggs’ second tour of duty with the Bears, and he comes in as offensive line depth.
Boggs played five games with the Bears from 2013 to 2014, before moving on to the Detroit Lions and Arizona Cardinals, where he made his first career start in 2016. He played a grand total of 99 snaps with the Cardinals and received a 43.4 grade from Pro Football Focus for his efforts. He finished the 2016 season on injured reserve with a shoulder injury.
Boggs played college football at Humboldt State in Arcata, Calif. and was originally signed by the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent in 2011. He never played a down for the Jets after being placed on injured reserve in April 2011 and was later cut in August 2012.
The Bears’ also trimmed their roster by six players, waiving running backs Bralon Addison and David Cobb, cornerbacks De’Vante Bausby and Jacoby Glenn, wide receiver Dres Anderson and tight end Justin Perillo. Chicago signed Perillo this winter from the practice squad, adding him to a mix of tight ends that has only become deeper since the free agent signing of Dion Sims and drafting of second-round pick Adam Shaheen.
