While Matt Nagy played coy and David Montgomery proceeded with caution, I figured an updated injury report would give us the most information regarding the Bears running back’s playing status for Sunday’s game against the Lions.
And it did just that:

Let optimism reign!
Montgomery was a *FULL PARTICIPANT* in Thursday’s practice. I’m unsure what practicing in full entrails for Montgomery after having a “stretch practice” on Wednesday. But I know enough that being a “full” participant after being “limited” is progress. And at this point, I’ll take all the good vibes I can get regarding Chicago’s RB1.
Cordarrelle Patterson (knee), Jason Spriggs (knee), and Javon Wims (achilles) were also full participants at Thursday’s practice. Buster Skrine (finger) was a new addition to the injury report, but it did not limit him in practice.
On the other end of the spectrum, pass-rusher Robert Quinn (ankle) missed his second consecutive practice. Meanwhile, a knee injury limited Khalil Mack for a second straight afternoon. I’ll dive deeper into those two injuries momentarily. In the meantime, positive vibes only regarding the Bears’ top running back.
