Team-operated offseason training phases are underway, but it’s the off-site get-togethers that always catch my eye.
And with that in mind, I find myself intrigued by Justin Fields already linking up with one of his newest receivers:

The Bears signed Marquise Goodwin to bring some speed and experience to the table. Goodwin’s skill set should play well with Fields. Whether as a deep threat where Fields can unleash his arm strength, or quick passes that get Goodwin in open space, there’s some potential for productivity with this tandem.
I’ll be curious to see if this is something that will roll over into training camp and eventually the preseason. There is plenty of fluidity throughout the Bears’ receivers room. Even with Allen Robinson II and Darnell Mooney established at the top of the depth chart, there’s plenty of uncertainty after those two. Goodwin will be battling with Anthony Miller, Riley Ridley, Javon Wims, Dazz Newsome, and others for playing time and attention from any and all quarterbacks.
At a minimum, it’s cool to see a pair of new guys build a rapport early in their Bears career. Let’s have fun!
