Velus Jones Jr. was the highest-profile addition to the Chicago Bears receivers room this offseason.
A third-round pick from Tennessee, Jones has speed and playmaking upside this offense needs. And after sitting out of the trade market and not diving into the deep end of free agency, the Bears really need him to hit the ground running and be an immeidate contributor.
Unfortunately, a hamstring injury is keeping Jones OUT for today’s game against the San Francisco 49ers. It’s a bummer, to be sure. But it is probably better to keep him off the sloppy, wet track of Soldier Field. Perhaps a bit more rest will have him ready for Week 2 against the Green Bay Packers.
