Who is Marcus Brady?
Marcus Brady and Bears head coach Matt Eberflus were part of the same coaching staff with the Indianapolis Colts from 2018 to 2021 under former head coach Frank Reich. Brady, 44, initially served as the assistant quarterbacks coach before being promoted to quarterbacks coach in 2019. His role further expanded to offensive coordinator in 2021 when Nick Sirianni became the Eagles head coach.
After being let go a week before Reich in 2022, Brady joined the Eagles as a consultant before assuming the position of senior offensive assistant for the 2023 season.
During his first year as offensive coordinator in Indianapolis, the Colts were one of the top rushing attacks in the league. Indianapolis finished second in the NFL in rushing yards per game (149.4) and yards per carry (5.1) while also tying for the fifth-most rushing touchdowns (22). Jonathan Taylor received Associated Press first-team All-Pro recognition and was named to his first career Pro Bowl after leading the league with team records in rushing yards (1,811) and touchdowns (18).
In 2020, Brady was the quarterbacks coach for Indianapolis, while Philip Rivers posted the eighth-best completion percentage (68.0 pct.) and 10th-most passing yards (4,169) in the NFL.
Back in 2018, while serving as the assistant quarterbacks coach for the Colts, Brady was able to work with Andrew Luck. Luck earned the AP’s NFL Comeback Player of the Year as well as Pro Bowl honors after throwing for the second-most passing touchdowns (39) and fifth-most passing yards (4,593) in the league that season.
Brady also spent time working with former Bears head coach Marc Trestman. Brady was the OC of the Toronto Argonauts in 2017 under Trestman.
