It isn’t taking long for the Caleb Williams and core pieces of the Chicago Bears to hit the ground running.
And it sure sounds like DJ Moore is impressed with the Chicago’s new QB1.
Moreover, there is one specific takeaway that Moore points out from his workouts with Williams that his mentioning I find to be quite noteworthy:

“The anticipation is there. You can tell that he’s expecting us to be open at a certain time, so that is going to be one of the things that is better. SO I’ve just got to be on the same page with him going forward. It could be fast or it could take some time. I’m hoping it’s fast, though.”
Throwing with anticipation hasn’t been a strong suit for any of the quarterbacks DJ Moore has had to play with over the course of his career. It wasn’t a strength for Justin Fields. Nor was it one for Sam Darnold or anyone else who walked through the revolving door of disappointment while Moore was with the Carolina Panthers. But that Caleb Williams’ ability to throw with anticipation is already showing up in early workouts with Moore is notable (to say the least).

The Mirror has more in an exclusive piece with DJ Moore and I think it is worth your time. In the piece, Moore shares an anecdote about how Caleb Williams invited him to a throwing session. It is lovely to read about a rookie taking initiative and an established veteran going along for the ride. Moore says the two were “bouncing ideas off each other” and called the experience a good one. This is music to my ears — and for reasons beyond the obvious.
DJ Moore was one of Justin Fields biggest supporters last year. There were multiple occasions in which Moore made pro-Fields pitches when asked about the quarterback’s future. Can you blame him?
Moore just had the best season of his career while catching passes from Fields. So it makes sense why he was publicly supportive of his teammate at the time. Unfortunately, there were some who thought Moore could potentially become problematic because of a quarterback change. That never truly crossed my mind as a realistic possibility, but it did for others. So it is a relief to know that the potential narrative of Moore possibly causing issues because Fields isn’t the quarterback in Chicago anymore are already dead. They’re done. Over. And all before rumors on that front could even get started. Thank. Goodness.
