It has taken sports betting by storm in recent years thanks to sportsbooks like DraftKings and FanDuel. We are talking about the same game parlay. Let’s break down what the bet type is, how it works, and more as you continue online sports betting.

What is a Same Game Parlay?
A same game parlay is a wager where you combine multiple outcomes from the same game into one bet. It’s a parlay that only focuses on one particular game as opposed to combining multiple bets from different games. You need all legs of the same game parlay bet to win for you to win the wager.
Same Game Parlay Example
For example, let’s take a same game parlay from a matchup between the Celtics and Pacers. These SGP odds are from FanDuel Sportsbook.

To win this bet, you would need the Celtics to win by 10 points or more, the game to have 226 total points or more, and Jaylen Brown to score the first basket. If any of these wagers don’t happen, you lose the bet. A $100 bet would win $1446 on this same game parlay.
How Sportsbooks Boost Juice on SGP
Sportsbooks add juice to bets to guarantee them a small profit on each wager. When it comes to SGPs, a sportsbook will add even more juice. This is something to consider when placing your wagers. Don’t just bet on random same game parlays that are promoted by a sportsbook without understanding the odds. Let’s look at that same example from above.

As you can see, FanDuel has adjusted the SGP odds in their favor. If you were to place the same game parlay, you would receive odds of +1446. Now, if you were to calculate the odds if you received the same odds in another parlay, you would get +1812. As you can see, FanDuel has added some juice, and the odds are impacted more and more for each leg that you add to your same game parlay.
Avoid Sportsbooks That Hide SGP Odds
Now that you see the importance of understanding the odds for your bets, you should never place same game parlays with a sportsbook that doesn’t show the odds for each bet. For example, on FanDuel Sportsbook, you can see the individual odds when you place a same game parlay. Like in the example we used above, the Celtics -9 had odds of -108.
Some sportsbooks will just show the -9 spread if you are making a same game parlay. You should avoid these sportsbooks because there is no way for you to calculate how much juice they are adding to each leg in your SGP.
Be Sure to Check Void Rules
A final thing to consider when placing an SGP is the void rules. Always check the rules for when a leg of your same game parlay is voided, canceled, etc. At some sportsbooks, the entire bet is void if any leg of your parlay is canceled. For example, let’s say you bet the SGP example from above.

Let’s say Jaylen Brown doesn’t end up playing after getting injured during pregame warmups. Therefore the bet of Jaylen Brown first basket is void because he’s inactive.
Some sportsbooks will void the entire bet as opposed to readjusting the odds and making it an SGP with 2 legs. Or, even worse, you can still lose the bet if the Celtics don’t cover and the game doesn’t hit the over but if you get both legs right the bet is void.
This is an important detail that cannot be overlooked. Be sure to check your sportsbook’s SGP rules.
How to Find SGP’s on Sportsbooks
Most sportsbooks have a dedicated tab for placing an SGP. For example, DraftKings has a button you can click to start your same game parlay after you click on the bets for a specific game. On FanDuel, it has an “SGP” logo next to bet types that are available to be placed into a same game parlay. It will automatically combine bets from the same game for you right away.
