The Blackhawks Send Their Letters To Santa

‘Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even Brad Marchand.

Ok, so that’s not exactly how the story goes, but I think there’s probably copyright issues we’d have to deal with if I went any further anyway. But here we are in the NHL Holiday Break and while COVID continues to be an issue that we will have to deal with during and after the Christmas Holiday break, that is for “future us” to worry about. Today is about the Christmas Holiday spirit and what better way to celebrate both the Holiday and the Blackhawks than with some letters to Santa!

They’re probably a little late, but better late than never. Hope you enjoy and Happy Holidays!

•   Dear Santa,
This year has been challenging for me. I want to be just like my old self, but I’m not quite there yet. Everyone has been super nice to me this year, but I want to be doing more. If you could bring me some rechargeable batteries so I can keep going and going and going to the end of the season, that would be awesome!

Signed, Jonathan Toews
P.S. I know you’re going to have a lot of cookies this year, so I left you some kale chips instead.
Gotta eat your greens!

•   Dear Santa,
I know I have a lot of nice things going for me this year, and I like being able to share with my friends. But if I could be a little selfish, sometimes I want to be the one who scores the goals. If you could give me a new pair of silk mittens, so I can find my scoring touch again before the end of the year, I would really like it.

Signed, Patrick Kane

•   Dear Santa,
This has been a weird year for me. I moved to a new city and had to make all new friends. It’s been a little easier since they’ve welcomed me to town, and I’ve been playing a lot better with them. I know I’ve had some help this season and I wanted to give my other friends something to show my appreciation for them. If you could give me a few buckets of red paint for my goalposts, I know they could really use it.

Signed, Marc-André Fleury
P.S. If you could maybe help me stop Patrick in practice once in a while, that would be great! Joyeux Noël!

•   Dear Santa,
I’m trying to be better at sharing this year, but I can’t help that I’m the best on my team at scoring. The guys keep getting on me about breaking the nets, so maybe you could give me some new twine so I can fix the ones I keep ripping? I’m sure that they would like that. Also, it might get them to stop telling me I need to get back to Santa’s workshop before Christmas.

Signed, Alex DeBrincat

•   Dear Santa,
It’s been great being able to play together this year, even if we can’t do it every game. Mom keeps telling us what everyone is saying, but I think we’ve done enough to get people off our backs this year. If you could tell coach to keep putting us together, that would be a lot of fun.

Signed, Seth and Caleb Jones

•   Dear Santa,
Everyone keeps asking me to get them bagels, but I’m going to run out of money soon. Maybe you could give me some Dunkin Donuts gift cards to hand out to everyone? I’m happy they have embraced me so much in town, they do love a player like me here. Keep up the good work, big guy!

Signed, Brandon Hagel

•   Dear Santa,
Last year you helped me with my wish to be Captain of Team Canada, but I didn’t get to really enjoy it. I know you can’t do it again this year, but if you could maybe do me another solid, I would really appreciate it. I’m doing my best this season, but if you could get everyone to stop talking about Trevor Zegras for like, two seconds, that would really be great for me. Thanks!

Signed, Kirby Dach
P.S. Could you also get people to stop mentioning Moritz Seider, too?

•   Dear Santa,
I’ve had a lot of fun these past few weeks with my new head coach, but he keeps telling me I need to be doing more. I keep trying hard, but it’s getting challenging to keep up with the demands. It’s been really helpful to play with Patrick and Alex, so if you could maybe have coach keep me with them the rest of the year, I think I could really do well for the team!

Signed, Dylan Strome

•   Dear Santa,
What do I have to do to get called up to the NHL? I’m having fun in Rockford, but I’m ready to play in Chicago. If you could get me up to the Blackhawks this year, that would be wunderbar!

Signed, Lukas Reichel

•   Dear Santa,
I’m loving the new gig! Please let me stay here.

Signed, Derek King
P.S. Could you stop having my players order the shrimp?
