The Contracts for Tomas Satoransky and Thaddeus Young Have Been Guaranteed – Trades to Come? (UPDATE: Yup)

Update: Tomas Satoransky was included in the deal that brought Lonzo Ball to Chicago. More coming.

For months we have questioned what the Chicago Bulls would do with the partially-guaranteed contracts of Tomas Satoransky and Thaddeus Young. Now, ESPN’s Bobby Marks has our answer (kinda).

Young and Satoransky’s contracts have officially become fully guaranteed. Satoransky has now earned an extra $5 million while Thaddeus Young has added an extra $8.2 million. The decision adds significant dollars to Bulls payroll and tells us the front office will act as an over-the-cap team at the start of free agency. What this move will do is open up the mid-level exception the team can use to sign free agents. The Bulls will also have to look more primarily through the trade market to add higher-impact talent.

The organization might be able to do just that, though, as we learned this morning that both Young and Satoransky are on the trade market. While we have not gotten word about Young, we have heard Tomas Satoransky’s name thrown out as possible bait in a sign-and-trade deal for Lonzo Ball.

Regardless, my gut tells me both of these guys will be on the move over the next couple of hours.

You can keep track of all the craziness below:
